The soybean exports they collapsed again in August, with a year-on-year drop of 83%, due to the consequences of the drought on crops, having a significant impact on the decline in Uruguayan placements, according to the latest report Uruguay XXI.
The survey on foreign trade showed that the placements of the oilseed during August were for a total of 53 million dollars, when during the same period of 2022 the sales were 303 million dollars, a decrease that was contemplated by the climatic phenomenon that hit the country.
However, a rebound is expected in the soy after the arrival of the phenomenon of The boy, that will come with more rains for the region. In fact, Urupov’s remote sensing system, based on information from its seed supplier partners, predicted an increase in the planted area of the product during the next harvest.
