The dogs, including American Staffordshire Terriers, were found during a house search. “They have been handed over to animal protection organizations. The official act has not yet been completed. There will still be interrogations today and tomorrow,” said the police spokeswoman for the APA. Next Monday, the public prosecutor’s office and the police are planning to provide media information on further details. Due to the ongoing investigation, no details could be announced at the moment, the spokeswoman said.
The suspect was in police custody on Saturday. The public prosecutor’s office in Linz must decide whether the man will be transferred to prison in Linz. 25 chickens and turkeys that were also on the property have also been housed in animal shelters.
