It would have been the goal of the round: Elias Havel hit Lustenau with his heel. However, the alleged 1-0 was denied by referee Markus Hameter because Marin Ljubicic was offside when it came about. “If you have your back to the goal, two central defenders behind you and there is nobody there to put it down – as a striker you try to get the ball onto the goal somehow. Unfortunately, it didn’t count,” said Havel. “In the end we won 2-0, that’s the most important thing.”

The 20-year-old also had his legs in the game in the 1-0: he forced Lustenau goalkeeper Domenik Schierl to save, and in the following corner kick, Phlipp Ziereis’ goal made it 1-0. Then Havel got an actual scorer point: he won the running duel against Boris Moltenis and hung up for Thomas Goiginger, who scored the 2-0.

First Bundesliga ball contact, first goal

It was his second: In the 1-1 draw in Tirol, he equalized with his first Bundesliga touch 23 seconds after coming on. In the following games, too, he always brought new impetus to the LASK offensive as a joker.

The achievements have now been honored by U21 team boss Werner Gregoritsch: The ex-LASK trainer nominated Havel to kick off the qualification for the EM 2025: On Thursday the ÖFB team will be visiting Cyprus (7 p.m.), the following Tuesday is in Ried Bosnia-Herzegovina the opponent (6 p.m.).
