Those arrested are three Moroccans aged 18, 19 and 20. The three men approached the pilot, who was near a luxury hotel in central Milan, accompanied by his manager. One of them snatched a watch worth more than 300,000 euros from the left wrist of the Ferrari driver and ran away.
The Formula 1 driver tried to prevent the three men from escaping and was able to stop one of the Moroccans with the help of two passers-by. A second man was stopped by the manager, the third was located and stopped some distance away by another employee with the help of pedestrians. The three men were immediately arrested by police officers and taken to the police station.
In April 2022, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc had his Richard Mille luxury watch stolen during a stay in the Tuscan coastal town of Viareggio. At the time he was out with his trainer Andrea Ferrari when he was noticed by a group of fans and asked for autographs and pictures. A thief is said to have taken advantage of the crowd to steal the luxury watch of the Formula 1 World Championship driver.
