The objective of the certificate is to make transparent the productive processes of the grapes that will be destined to the elaboration of wines nationals, as explained in a technical seminar for the closure of the FPTA 353 project that carried out the Uruguayan Federation of CREA groups (Fucrea).
Throughout the year, some 162 vineyards will be certified by the program, representing some 1,846 hectares of vineyards throughout the national territory. The certification is in charge of LSQA (LATU + Quality Austria).
The wines from 30 wineries will carry a sustainability seal
In turn, it is expected that some 30 Uruguayan wineries will begin to produce their wines with these certified grapes, something that will enable them to use the seal Sustainable Winegrowing Uruguay Certified.
