Childminders feel at home with Novelle “overlook”

Afternoon care by childminders should no longer be supported if more than two children in a community need care. As soon as three or more children in a community are registered for afternoon care, this should take place in a kindergarten or after-school care center.

“What has been overlooked is the concept of childminders, where children can be looked after for longer, sometimes even into the evening or early in the morning when the kindergarten is not yet open. We demand that we take another look at the child’s well-being, look at the amendment and not calculate too conservatively”said Jasmine Chansri, chairwoman of the Aktion Tagesmütter OÖ association (VTM), at a press conference on Friday in Linz.
