Seven times gold, six times silver and five times bronze: this year’s “Euroskills” in Gdansk, Poland, was a complete success for the Austrian participants. With 18 medals in 38 disciplines, Austria is also the most successful of all 32 participating countries. The athletes received their medals in front of an enthusiastic audience in the 42,000-seat Gdansk football stadium.

With a total of five podium finishes, Upper Austria was the most successful federal state. The Herzogsdorf refrigeration and air conditioning technician Niklas Danninger (Hauser, Linz) and the florist Sandra Berger from Niederwaldkirchen (Blumenhandwerk Elke Mitter, Eferding) won gold.

The Schwertberg industrial plant technician Lukas Frühwirth (voestalpine, Linz) and the two Innviertel residents Lukas Dragoste and Christian Eberherr won the silver medal in their disciplines in the entrepreneurship category. Bronze in the plumbing competition went to Rene Krumphuber (Strasser Dach, Eberstalzell) from Pettenbach.
