At the last minute, transport for 33 elementary school children in Dimbach was secured. As reported, State Councilor Michael Lindner (SP) from the municipal department is providing special funds with which the municipality can compensate the contracted bus company for the sharply increased operating costs. The company will therefore extend its driving services, which it originally wanted to discontinue, for another year. At the same time, Mayor Manfred Fenster (SP) is in contact with a second company that can take on some of the trips during this school year if it can find enough staff. “I would like to thank everyone who helped ensure that occasional school transport is once again available in our community,” says Fenster.
However, the mayor of Dimbach also emphasizes that this agreement does not release the Ministry of Family Affairs, which is responsible for financing, from designing the financial framework for all affected communities in the long term in such a way that children from towns without regular public transport can be safely taken to school and back home by bus .
