The transport companies have taken precautions to bring all students and all workers to school or their workplace as best as possible from Monday. “To make this possible, we will be in operation from today, Monday, with all available bus drivers and all vehicle capacities,” says Georg Stimeder from the Steyr municipal company.
After the previous transport company unexpectedly terminated the contract for occasional school transport for the municipality of St. Ulrich, school bus operations were not secured for the time being. After intensive planning and discussions between the Steyr municipal company, representatives of the Federal Ministry of Finance and the mayor of St. Ulrich, Annemarie Wolfsjäger, a good joint solution has now been reached. Starting today, Steyr City Enterprises (SBS) will take over occasional student transport between St. Ulrich and the school centers in Steyr and Garsten. Six city buses will transport students safely and safely from the residential areas of the municipality of St. Ulrich to school and back home every day.
The SBS advises switching to public transport at the start of school. Despite high inflation, ticket prices for public transport have not been increased this year.
