On October 8th, a new mayor will be elected in St. Martin im Innkreis following the resignation of Hans-Peter Hochhold (ÖVP), the OÖN reported. There are three candidates: Benjamin Salhofer (ÖVP), Rainer Höretzeder (FPÖ) and Angelika Langmaier (Greens). The SPÖ decided not to nominate.
People on the Freedom Party side are angry. The reason for this is the daubing of three election posters at the state music school, the roundabout and the Spar market, on which FPÖ candidate Höretzeder is pictured. According to the FPÖ, the total damage amount is 160 euros. A complaint was filed against unknown perpetrators for the offense of damaging property at the Aurolzmünster police station.
