Ancap blamed the union for the failed tender and warned about labor sources

After the tender for Ancap to reach an association with a private company for the portland businessfrom the government and the board of directors of the autonomous entity, pointed out against the Ancap Federation (Fancap) and warned about labor sources.

Alejandro Stipanicicpresident of the state oil company, referred to the escalation of forceful measures that Fancap has been taking recently in protest of the privatization of the Portland business, stating today in an interview on Radio Sarandí that “the companies do not want to come to a country where the unions think like they did at the beginning of the 20th century”.

The head of the state company stated that one of the businessmen interested in the business told him personally that they were not going to show up because of the forceful measures carried out by Fancap, because “he was afraid” of going to Uruguaysince he knew about the union mobilizations and was “scared.”

Faced with this situation, Stipanicic admitted that from now on the State company will not be able to guarantee job sources in the cement sector.

Along these lines, the Secretary of the Presidency, Alvaro Delgadoalso commented today at a press conference that although “there were interested parties”, all the “union noises” generated a “disincentive” for companies, due to “an attitude of putting spokes in the wheel.”
