Beijing – The president of China, Xi Jinping, met yesterday in Beijing with his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolás Maduro, and announced a strengthening of relations between both countries, which will reach the category of “strategic level for all times”, a qualification that the Asian giant only grants to Pakistan, Russia and Belarus.
“I am very happy to announce with you the elevation of relations between China and Venezuela to the level of All-Proof and All-Weather Strategic Partnership,” Xi said, according to images broadcast on state television.
According to the Chinese president, the partnership “satisfies the common expectations of the two peoples and corresponds to the general trend of historical development.”
China “as always, will firmly support Venezuela’s efforts to safeguard national sovereignty, national dignity and social stability, and will firmly support Venezuela’s just cause of opposing foreign interference,” Xi said, adding that it will define with Maduro a plan for the further development of relations and deepening cooperation in various fields.
