The regular cabaret or concert events at the Pfarrmusik Ort have now become a tradition, and the location of the performances is both familiar and unusual. After all, a production hall in FACC’s Plant 4 is not an everyday venue for – always high-quality – cabaret programs. This time a special artist, Omar Sarsam, will be on stage on Saturday, October 21st. Because Sarsam is a pediatrician by profession.
The Viennese with Iraqi roots as well as Czech and Croatian influences started doing cabaret in 2004 and has now established himself in the local cabaret scene. Sarsam is also a regular guest on the ORF advice show “What’s New?” and “Cabaret Summit”.
Between practice and stage
For Sabine Trausinger, the chairwoman of Pfarrmusik Ort, it is always a new challenge to establish contacts with well-known artists. “This time everything came about very easily,” she says and explains that Omar Sarsam quickly agreed upon her initial contact. The cabaret evening will once again be presented by OÖNachrichten as media partner.
The stupid doctor’s program is called “Special Class”, and the artist says that after years of practice as a cabaret artist and doctor, the boundaries between them sometimes become blurred for him. He has therefore incorporated special features from both worlds into his cabaret program. And he has another tip for visitors: “This visit to the doctor does not replace a visit to the doctor!” he says.
