The main demand is directed at Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP). This should immediately convene a “national climate disaster summit”.
The protest is supported by a number of organizations, artists and scientists. Eleven demonstrations will take place across Austria, with the largest one again expected in Vienna. The start is at 12:00 p.m. at the Wien-Mitte train station, the final rally is planned from 4:00 p.m. at Heldenplatz. At the beginning of March, according to “Fridays For Future”, 30,000 people across Austria took to the streets for more climate protection during the 13th climate strike.
