Serious fall during a cycling race on Lake Attersee

The 19-year-old from the district of Scheibbs (Lower Austria) was riding his time trial bike on the B152 from Weißenbach am Attersee towards Unterach at the cycling event on Saturday around 4.30 p.m. when the handlebars of his bike suddenly came loose shortly before a bottleneck. The athlete twisted his bike, hit a traffic sign and fell. He was seriously injured and was taken to the Salzkammergutklinikum Vöcklabruck after first aid from rescue and racing doctors. There was serious damage to the bike.
