Based on a telephone report, a van with a Polish license plate that was traveling on Rohrbacher Straße, B127, towards Rohrbach was stopped and checked by several police patrols in the municipality of Altenfelden on Saturday around 3 p.m.
In the vehicle were 27 Turkish-Kurdish citizens who had entered the country illegally and were applying for asylum. The driver of the vehicle, a 47-year-old Georgian citizen, was arrested and, after being questioned, taken to the Linz prison in consultation with the Linz public prosecutor’s office.
