The candidates Luisa González and Daniel Noboa, who will define the Presidency of Ecuador in a second round on October 15, await the formal start of the campaign with a strong presence in the media and on social networks, in search of a large young voter list, and with efforts with related sectors to add the will of the enormous percentage of those who opted for applicants who were left out of the runoff.
As the campaign for the compulsa officially starts on Sunday the 24th, González, from the Correista Citizen Revolution (RC), and Noboa, from National Democratic Action (ADN), carry out visits and presences in the regions with non-proselytizing formats, but They also serve to showcase their proposals. A central point of this activity is the appearance on networks, knowing that it is the main way through which the group of young people who, in the country, is decisive, get informed and make decisions: 25% of those entitled to vote have 18 to 29 years old. This group, in addition, suffers markedly from the two main problems that affect the country and that have the greatest interest in the campaign: the very high crime rate and the severe economic crisis.
Some studies showed that the so-called “youth vote” leaned mostly towards Noboa, although González has reactivated his campaign.
