As Officials of the Border and immigration police tried to stop a suspicious vehicle near Reichersberg (Ried im Innkreis district), the situation escalated.
The officers had to fire warning shots. A civilian patrol car was then rammed by the suspected smuggler vehicle, a box truck. According to police, two people were arrested. During a subsequent search, 13 passengers, including children, were found near the vehicle.
