The Linz-based company Robart can no longer meet its payment obligations and, according to the creditor protector AKV, has filed for insolvency with the regional court: proceedings are expected to open shortly. Robart, with 25 employees, develops robots with artificial intelligence for electronics and household appliances. Liabilities amount to 9.5 million euros, compared to assets of 735,000 euros. 62 creditors are affected.

Originally, Robart’s developments were sold exclusively to other electronics manufacturers; one of the main buyers was the French Groupe SEB: This was scheduled to take over Robart in 2022, which subsequently fell apart. As a result, SEB no longer purchased robots from Robart, but only purchased software services. This resulted in significant sales losses. In addition, another partner, the US-based SharkNinja, ended its collaboration with Robart for cost reasons. This drop in sales could no longer be compensated for.

Since negotiations with a French investor could not be concluded, the originally planned restructuring failed. The company is closed.
