Until then, the hiking bus on Gmunden’s Traunsteinstrasse will run daily and free of charge. In addition, there is a bonus of two euros when you hand in your hiking bus ticket at the two huts on the Traunstein (Gmundner Hut of the Alpine Club and Traunsteinhaus of the Nature Friends) and at the Mairalm.
Departures from the Seebahnhof take place every hour on the hour (until 6 p.m.). Entry and exit points are the Freisitz Roith, the Landhotel Grünberg, the Gasthof Ramsau, Das Traunstein, the Seegasthof Hois’n and the turning point at the end of Traunsteinstrasse.
Normally the hiking bus only runs on weekends from the Seebahnhof to the turnaround point and back. Several OÖN readers are now in favor of maintaining the all-week offer.
