A 9-year-old was held by an unknown person in a parking lot in Wattens (Innsbruck-Land district) on Tuesday and pulled towards the exit. The girl screamed for help, whereupon the man let go. The unknown man then fled. The man, who was wearing blue and white Nike sneakers, has not yet been found. According to media reports, further information was received and was followed up, the police told the APA.
Police spokesman Stefan Eder said on Friday that the information had not yet resulted in any concrete results. However, the situation is taken “very seriously” and surveillance has been increased by patrols accordingly. The police are also asking for information from the public.
