It was only shortly before the planned funeral that an employee of a funeral home in the cemetery in Zaragoza noticed that the supposed corpse was breathing and had a weak pulse, the regional newspapers “El Periódico de Aragón” and “Heraldo de Aragón” reported on Friday, citing the authorities the Aragon region. A day later the woman died in the hospital.
The incident happened on Monday evening. The woman was immediately taken to a hospital, but she actually died there a day later. The family has now filed a complaint. She suspects that the trip to the funeral home and the time the 90-year-old was without medical supervision contributed to her death.
An investigating judge has opened an investigation in Zaragoza to find out whether there was negligence or misconduct on the part of the treating doctors, it said. Aragon’s justice system confirmed this information upon request.
