The country is at the regional forefront on the subject and this was reflected in the First Latin American AI Index ranking prepared by the National Center for Artificial Intelligence (Cenia), who pointed out that Uruguay stands out in the variable “availability, capacity and governance” of technologies, as well as Brazil and Chili.

The country also appears as the one with the largest number of data centers, although it still does not have “supercomputers”, another axis that only meets Brazil. Furthermore, another of the “musts” is the lack of talents in AI, Therefore, international organizations are supporting technological training initiatives on a larger scale; as well as investment in relation to initiatives carried out in other parts of the world.
