Uruguay and China will renegotiate their export protocols

Uruguay and Chinaits major trading partner, paved the way to renegotiate its export protocols for the first time since 2018.

Mattos explained that the conditions are in place to renegotiate the protocol that establishes the requirements for the export of beef and sheep from Uruguay to the Asian giant, and that the final text will be in force once the evaluation process of the Chinese proposals is completed.

The document, called “Protocol on inspection, quarantine and veterinary health requirements for beef and sheep exported from Uruguay and China“, covers various aspects of the meat trade between both countries.

It is the first time in 5 years that there has been an opening for a renegotiation of the agreement and the arrival of proposals for modifications by Chinathat Uruguay must evaluate.
