The 25-year-old from the Ried district drove his blue Opel on Waldzeller Straße towards Schildorn around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. There were three friends in the car, two 19-year-olds and a 16-year-old from the Ried district.
The driver swerved the vehicle because of an animal that ran across the road. The car hit the shoulder, was thrown into the grass and rolled over several times.
An accident witness (20) from Germany alerted the rescue team and, together with her husband, provided first aid.

Driver seriously injured
The driver suffered serious injuries in the accident. He was taken to the hospital in Ried. An alcohol test showed a value of 2.24 per mille. The young man’s driver’s license was taken away.
His 19-year-old passenger was slightly injured. The 16-year-old, who was sitting in the back seat behind the handlebars, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries. Another passenger remained uninjured. The car was totaled.
