The well-known Dötl’s bakery was located in Gmundner’s Kuferzeile until the late 1990s. Now this place has been carefully redesigned to create a meeting place for creative people. The two initiators, Heike Hufnagl and Veronika Bergmann, are united by the desire for a judgment-free space for creativity.
“After a few private drawing meetings, we quickly decided to open the doors to anyone interested,” says graphic designer Bergmann. Hufnagl adds: “The old furniture from the time of the bakery business has been lovingly preserved and gives the room a unique atmosphere. The wooden shelves, once filled with fresh rolls and fragrant bread, now house brushes, pens and paper.”
A centerpiece of the project is the weekly creative workshop every Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. A variety of workshops and themed evenings are planned for the fall and winter. All information about this can be found at alte-baeckerei.at
