The Oberbank Steelvolleys Linz-Steg missed the defense of the Volleyball Supercup:
The triple winners from Upper Austria had to admit defeat 2:3 to cup finalists Innsbruck after just under two and a half hours.
The new Tyrolean attackers Marie Nevot (30 points) and Rozalia Hnatyszyn (18) left their mark on the game. For Tirol it was the first title in the club’s history.
“We weren’t tough enough and didn’t score enough points against double blocks,” analyzed Linz captain Sophie Maass. The championship, which begins for Linz-Steg on Saturday in Salzburg, offers an opportunity for improvement.
