Within two years Uruguay would have 300 Electric Vehicle Power Systems (SAVE) along all Uruguayan routes with a maximum distance of 50 kilometers between each one, according to the national director of Energy, Fitzgerald Cantero.

In this sense, the leader announced in Informativo Sarandí that the state electricity company National Administration of Power Plants and Electrical Transmissions (UTE) launched a special promotion where it offers users of electric vehicles a one-time bonus of four thousand pesos on the bill for home charging of electric vehicles that can be connected through a conventional outlet.
By the end of this year, it is estimated that the vehicle fleet will be made up of a 2% electric vehicleswhich would mean a total of 3,000 units that will grow month after month.

Cantero announced that the results of the plan Upload – in which the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining (MIEM) provides $5,000 in aid for the purchase of electric taximeters, up to a limit of 100 units – is having good results.
