The Armenian government announced on Tuesday that a total of 13,350 refugees from the Caucasus region had already entered Armenia. The government is providing housing to everyone without shelter, it said. The registration of refugees continues.
A week ago, Azerbaijan launched a large-scale military offensive in Nagorno-Karabakh. Just one day later, the pro-Armenian fighters of Nagorno-Karabakh had to accept a ceasefire agreement. Nagorno-Karabakh belongs to Azerbaijan under international law, but predominantly Armenians live in the area. Azerbaijan and Armenia have been fighting over the area for years.
A fuel depot in the region finally exploded on Monday. According to pro-Armenian separatists in the region, at least 20 people were killed. The authorities also spoke of more than 200 injuries on Monday.
