The mayor of Linz traveled to Kosovo with a delegation of labor market experts to explore possibilities for collaboration with IT specialists. Kosovo has the youngest population, with around 70 percent of the residents being under 35 years old.
Visit to the first Tech Park in Pristina
Discussions with Perparim Rama, the mayor of Pristina, also focused on how IT specialists could be deployed and exchanged in a targeted manner. The Linz delegation also visited the first Tech Park in Pristina, which is comparable to the Linz-based “Digital Mile”. “Our companies could benefit from this and create opportunities to counteract the shortage of skilled workers,” said Luger about the importance of international relations.
Luger as new labor minister?
Criticism comes from the FPÖ. “Either the office of the mayor of Linz has been equipped with new departmental areas that we are not aware of, or Mayor Luger is now dealing with agendas that are not actually part of his agenda and not part of his office,” says liberal parliamentary group leader Wolfgang Grabmayr.
