On Tuesday evening there was a physical altercation between a 35-year-old and the drug dealer during a drug deal on Wiener Strasse in Linz.

The alerted police patrol found the 28-year-old Nigerian who matched the description of the 35-year-old victim. But he fled and hid behind a garage on Turmstrasse. The police repeatedly asked the man to come out of hiding and lie on the ground. But he didn’t do that.

Only when other police patrols arrived did he approach the officers, but did not respond to their requests. Even after two blank shots, the Nigerian didn’t stop, showed hardly any reaction and walked towards the victim. Finally, the police officers used pepper spray and one of the officers brought the man, who resisted violently, to the ground. The 28-year-old was arrested around 10:10 p.m. and taken to the Linz police detention center.
