There has been a partnership between Amstetten and Alsfeld in Germany for more than four decades. As a result of this regular contact, a real “crazy idea” arose a few months ago, reports City Councilor for Culture and Tourism Stefan Jandl: “An Obstler made from 600 kilos of German apples and 300 kilos of Mostviertler pears.” The town twinning association picked up the pears from Amstetten and brought them to Germany, where they were processed in the distillery in Schlitz.

The “crazy idea” was now tasted together for the first time via a live stream with Mayor Stephan Paule, Greet Mehldau-Janitz from the Alsfeld town twinning association, Mostbaron “Seppelbauer” Bernhard Datzberger, city councilor Stefan Jandl and Mayor Christian Haberhauer. “Thank you very much for your cooperation,” says Mayor Haberhauer.
