Two people were missing, the news channel ERTnews reported, citing the police. A search and rescue operation has been initiated. The broadcaster showed a video recording of the crash, but the event was not clearly visible due to the thick clouds and rain.
There have been severe storms in the region since Wednesday. Many villages are cut off from the outside world because of destroyed roads. The helicopter was on its way to the Greek port city of Volos, ERTnews reported. There is currently no information about the cause of the crash.
