The awarding of the State Prize for “Innovative Schools” to the HTL in Braunau was extremely successful: it secured second place among all participating schools and was thus recognized as the most innovative HTL in all of Austria. For the tenth time, the talent factory from Braunau also defended the title of “Most Innovative School” in Upper Austria, which is a record. “We are very pleased about the award, which shows that we offer training at the highest level at the HTL Braunau. Our graduates are in great demand in business and at universities and technical colleges. With us, they learn to think beyond boundaries and for to find solutions to seemingly unsolvable problems,” says director Gerda Schneeberger proudly and thanks everyone involved.
Good facilities, good climate
For 50 years, students from near and far have been attending the HTL in Braunau, which has received numerous prizes and honors in recent years. The HTL scores with students with numerous training courses that not only reflect innovations in business and technology in the curriculum, but also convey a lot of learning content in addition to normal lessons. Project weeks take place regularly, during which students can show off and put various talents to the test. The equipment for exciting project days is also available: a newly built industry space, RSF media workshop with sound and film studio including green screen, a maker laboratory with many 3D printers as well as other laboratories and workshops. At school, attention is paid to a pleasant atmosphere and a teacher-student relationship on an equal footing with many advisory services and feedback loops.
The HTL has presented itself with the application video called “F**king awesome!” applied for the state prize and was able to score points. The video has already been viewed more than 6,000 times on YouTube, it was produced entirely in-house and is freely accessible on the video platform. “Being present at the award ceremony was a pleasure and recognition for the work I have done, and I was incredibly pleased that we achieved second place in such a large Austria-wide competition and that I am now a student at the most innovative HTL in Austria,” says including Hanna Schmidt, who was involved in public relations for the school.
