Astronomically speaking, autumn began last Saturday. But the weather is not adhering to this requirement for the time being: with temperatures of up to 27 degrees, it will remain warm in late summer next week. This weather situation will only be disturbed by a weak disturbance zone that will run through the country tomorrow.
Local early morning fog fields, which will continue to obscure visibility in places until mid-morning, will dissipate by midday. Then the sun shines widely. During the afternoon cloud fields in the west and northwest will appear in medium layers. The wind is only blowing lightly. The early temperatures are three to 15 degrees, the daily maximum temperatures are 26 degrees.
“Unusually warm”
Unsettled weather will occur at short notice on Saturday. With some denser clouds, heavy rain showers will pass through. Every now and then the clouds clear up and the sun comes out.
Sunday is much more pleasant: initially there are deep residual clouds in places on the northern edge of the Alps, and small areas of fog on the southern side of the Alps. But sunny weather will soon arrive. At 24 degrees it will be a little cooler than last, said meteorologist Alexander Ohms from Geosphere Austria yesterday.
The new week starts “very late summery”. “It will generally be unusually warm for the time of year, with highs of up to 27 degrees,” says Ohms. Because summer days over 25 degrees are only the exception at the beginning of October. These will be ended by a cold front that will hit all of Austria on Tuesday afternoon. “Then the temperatures will settle around 20 degrees and it could rain off and on until Thursday,” says Ohms. Postscript: “But it won’t be an unfriendly week.”
The rainfall, if short, would always be replaced by longer periods of sunshine.
