The purchase is funded by the Ministry of Climate Protection’s “Emission-free Commercial Vehicles and Infrastructure” funding program. Linz AG will use this to purchase six e-waste vehicles and the necessary e-charging infrastructure. The funding covers 80 percent of the additional costs of the emission-free drive and 40 percent of the infrastructure costs incurred.
175 tons of CO2 are saved
With the vehicles, Linz AG can save 175 tons of CO2 per year, and the first e-waste vehicle is scheduled to be used for disposal at the end of 2024. In total, more than 80 disposal vehicles are in use for Linz AG. “We are pleased that we have received considerable funding for this pioneering project and are thus making a contribution to climate protection,” says Erich Ehrentraut, Head of the Linz AG Waste Division.
