The accident occurred around 10 p.m. in the Leithen area of Peuerbach. The 56-year-old alcoholic driver suddenly crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with the tractor, whose trailer was fully loaded with corn kernels.
During the collision, the tractor’s left front wheel came off and the trailer containing corn kernels overturned. The 48-year-old tractor driver was slightly injured, while the drunk 56-year-old had to be taken to the Wels Clinic. An alcohol test showed a value of 2.78 per mille.
