The departmental head is finalizing details for what will be the electoral campaign for the internal elections of the opposition party.
Last Saturday, at a press conference, the Canarian leader revealed that he still does not have an exact date to take that step, but that it will be given days after the FA Congress at the end of this year.
“I imagine that next year we will no longer be there,” he said. Orsiwho added that “it will be January or February” when he steps aside from his position as mayor of Canelones.
“The idea that I am here (in the mayor’s office) until December to go to that other responsibility (the electoral campaign), and then we will see how the story continues,” he pointed out in this regard.
Orsi He indicated that in the remainder of his departmental administration he will focus on the execution of pending tasks at the level of architecture, infrastructure and social works.

On the other hand, Orsi He positively valued the close competition in the FA internal elections, mainly against the mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cossewho grew in voting intention, according to a recent survey by Opción Consultores.
“It is a good sign that there is uncertainty and that it is competitive,” said the Canarian, since in his opinion “on the left we did not care about that at first, today I think it is a good thing that it is so.”
For its part, cossewho could still go for a second consecutive term at the head of the Intendance of Montevideo (IM) In the next departmental and municipal elections in 2025, he has not officially commented on his presidential candidacy despite having received the support of various sectors of the FA.
