At around 10 a.m. she took off from the Hochleckenhaus, where the umbrella got caught in mountain pines. The pilot lost control of her aircraft, overturned and crashed into a mountain pine field.
Hikers saw the accident and called 911. The 50-year-old was rescued using rope and flown to the hospital by the “Martin 3” emergency medical helicopter.
