Meta plans to introduce its SNA (“Subscription No Ads”) program for users in Europe in the coming months, reported the Wall Street Journal. Users could then choose whether to use Instagram and Facebook for free with personalized advertising or pay for ad-free versions of the services.
As part of the subscription solution, Meta told regulators, according to the report, that it would charge users on desktop about 10 euros per month for a Facebook or Instagram account and about 6 euros for each additional linked account. On mobile devices, the price would be around 13 euros per month, as Meta would take into account the commissions charged by the Apple and Google app stores for in-app payments.
