At the Thanksgiving service last Sunday, the Steyr-Ennsleite parish said goodbye to parish leader Angelika Paulitsch. As a courageous, energetic and eloquent parish leader with great trust in God, strong self-confidence and clear positions on theological as well as church and socio-political issues, she has provided her parish with valuable services over the past 13 years and mastered many challenges.
Paulitsch’s creativity, her musical ability and her commitment to people on the margins of society will be remembered by the parishioners. She always made time for personal encounters. Her team is also proud that she was their wife in the “dean on the team” model.
Now it is important for the parish to continue to shape the future well. A volunteer pastoral care team will take over the management. Burghard and Annemarie Ebenhöh, Bernhard Felbauer, Elisabeth Weber and Ernst Embacher will take on the role of listening and being. Angelika Paulitsch is taking advantage of the major organizational upheaval and upheaval in the church to take an educational leave. During the restructuring process in the church in Steyr, the tasks of all pastoral employees will be redistributed. People on Ennsleite hope that Paulitsch will find a place in her home parish even after her return.
