The annoying search for a parking space in front of the hospital ended a good two years ago. The first part of the public parking garage went into operation in July 2021. Today the second part was opened with an additional 112 parking spaces.
The parking garage now offers a total of 329 parking spaces. “We are pleased that we can now release the second part of the parking garage, which is open to everyone. With this parking garage, we can offer both our patients and all visitors short walking distances from the parking lot to the hospital. Additional parking spaces are now also available for employees available,” says Erwin Windischbauer, managing director of the hospital and Parkhaus Braunau GmbH.
As reported and obvious, there is currently a major construction site at the hospital. 63.3 million euros are being invested in “Component 10”, creating 59,900 square meters of new space. The completed component has space for 158 beds and the outpatient clinic. There will then only be a maximum of two beds per patient room in the normal ward. “When component 10 is completed in June next year, covered and barrier-free access from the parking garage to the hospital will be possible. There will now also be sufficient parking spaces near the center for visiting the city center,” says Windischbauer. The facade consists of bush-hammered wall surfaces with aluminum slats, and the roof surfaces are covered in greenery.

The shareholders of Parkhaus Braunau GmbH are 51 percent owned by FraGes GmbH and 49 percent owned by the municipality of Braunau. The parking garage is open 24 hours a day. 70 cents are charged per half hour from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 30 cents between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. From 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. there is a flat rate of one euro. There are eight e-charging stations on parking garage level 1A.
