The Slovenian nuclear power plant Krško was shut down preventively on Thursday after a leak was discovered in the primary system, the STA news agency reported, citing a statement from the power plant operator. “The leak has no impact on employees, the population or the environment and is below the limit value,” it said.
“In order to accurately determine the source of the leak and determine the further steps to resolve it, the power plant must be shut down,” the operator said. They said they would begin with a controlled and gradual reduction in output. How long the nuclear power plant will be shut down has not yet been stated.
