The employee of a construction company was unloading a self-made wooden container from a truck into their driveway with a work colleague and his wife. The 59-year-old used a so-called transport anchor system. The two-ton container was attached to four chains with four screws, which were used to lift it from the back of the truck.
However, about two meters above the planned storage area, three of the four screws came loose for reasons that are still unclear – and the container tipped forward. The 59-year-old’s right foot became trapped under the container.
The seriously injured man was taken to the Salzkammergut Klinikum Vöcklabruck, the police reported on Friday evening.
