The 65-year-old was busy working in the forest about half a kilometer from his farm on Saturday shortly before noon. He used the front loader to bring tree tops and larger branches into a pile.
At around 3 p.m. his wife tried to call him. However, after she was unable to reach him, she went looking and found him lying injured under the left front tire of his tractor at around 3:45 p.m. With the help of a neighbor, she managed to get the 65-year-old out from under the tractor. However, the emergency doctor who was alerted could only determine that the old farmer was dead.
According to initial investigations, the 65-year-old probably got out of the driver’s cab – at the same time the tractor moved back on the slightly sloping meadow. The man was run over by the left front tire and ended up lying underneath it.
