Both sovereign securities in dollars and those linked to Indexed Units and in pesos had declines.
Uruguayan global bonds, both those in Dollars, in pesos like in Indexed Units (UI)recorded a general decline compared to last week, according to the AFAP Weekly Monitor of the Republic; However, some remained stable and the country risk decreased.
“Week (last) of interest rate hikes in Uruguay, in dollars and pesos, following the regional and global trend. The sovereign spread (“country risk”) fluctuated around 75 basis points (0.75%)”, published the economist, Aldo Lema on their social networks.
The global bonds of sovereign debt in dollars they all had a general decline reaching up to 3.08%. The only ones that remained stable were the 2024, 2025 and 2027 bonds. For their part, the 2031 and 20333 bonds had a fall of 1.04% and 0.86% respectively.
Meanwhile, the bonds for 2036 and 2045 had a negative variation of 1.65% and 2.13%, while the Bond Indexed to Climate Indicators (BIIC) to 2034, a variation of -0.93%. Those that suffered the most decline are the 2050 and 2055 bonds, which had decreases of 3.08% and 2.89%, respectively.

As for the Indexed Unit bonds, the only ones that did not suffer modifications were those of 2027, 2028 and 2030, which remained stable. That of 2037 had a decrease of 0.39% and that of 2040 of 0.38%.
What refers to the bonds in Uruguayan pesos, everyone faced falls. The 2028 bond had a drop of 1.66%, that corresponding to 2031, a drop of 2.47%, while the 2033 bond had a drop of 2.16%.
The sovereign spread that measures country risk with its Uruguay Bond Index (UBI) fell 3 basis points to 74 bps.
Meanwhile, the country risk calculated by República AFAP for these securities (IBI), which measures the average spread between the yield of bonds issued in UI by the Uruguayan State and the yield of the TIPS (Treasury Inflation Protected Securities) of the government of USAfell 28 basis points and stood at 21 bps.
