Model trains, remote-controlled aircraft, helicopters, cars and ships, model buildings made of cardboard or plastic – the exhibition halls in Ried will be the big stage for the miniature world next weekend. At the model building fair on Saturday, October 14th and Sunday, October 15th, the model buildings and systems of 184 companies and clubs can be seen in eight halls.

This trade fair is taking place in Ried for the 15th time and has developed into a leading trade fair. “Over the years, a small trade fair has become one of the most important model building fairs in Austria and southern Germany,” says trade fair director Helmut Slezak.

The 1st Model Railway Club Ried is also celebrating an anniversary – it was founded 40 years ago. For this occasion, the club has set up several model railway systems on an area of around 200 square meters. For the first time, the ÖBB will also be represented at the trade fair with numerous models. Hall 19 is therefore dedicated to the topic of model railways.

Lego and Playmobil exhibitions can also be seen, including a Lego quick-building competition. Registration: www.modellbau-ried.at

The remote-controlled cars can be admired in the FACC Sky Dome, the flight demonstrations take place every hour at the large indoor airfield, and the model ships will set sail in a large harbor basin.
