The collision occurred at 3 p.m. at an intersection in the town of Weikerding.
A 32-year-old Slovakian from the Braunau district was driving a van on the state road towards Burgkirchen and collided head-on with the moped.
The 15-year-old driver was hit by the van and then fell onto the road. He was taken to hospital after emergency medical treatment.
An alcohol test on the 32-year-old showed a level of 1.2 per mille – his driver’s license was temporarily revoked.
