Maduro condemned the indiscriminate attacks on the civilian population by Israel

The president of Venezuela spoke with his Palestinian counterpart, Mahmud Abbas, and assured that he will send “30 tons of humanitarian aid” to the Gaza Strip in the coming days.

After the telephone conversation between both leaders, Maduro assured that they agreed to “demand an immediate ceasefire” and establish a “humanitarian channel of assistance to the population.” In that sense he announced: “I informed him about the sending more than 30 tons of humanitarian aidin the coming days, at Gaza Stripas part of the beginning of a plan of direct and constant support to the Palestinian people, through established humanitarian channels.”

On the other hand, he emphasized his country’s support for Palestine: “We I reaffirmed Venezuela’s unconditional support for the Palestinian cause and its Authority, in order to achieve these objectives”.

Regarding a possible peace agreement, he explained that “they reviewed the initiatives promoted by different countries, including China and Egyptin order to convene a great world conference in favor of peace and the reestablishment of international legality.

He stressed that the objectives of both countries and these proposals are “immediately stop the aggression military against civilians and advance on the definitive path to reestablishing the rights of the Palestinian people.

The Maduro government, who received Abbas’ visit in Caracas in 2018, maintained that they must resume negotiations that “return to Palestine its territory and its right to exist”.
