“Just six months after (the vaccination) the level of antibodies has dropped and the specialists recommended that I get revaccinated, which I did a few days ago,” Putin said today at a government meeting, according to the Sputnik news agency.
“First I gave myself an injection and a day … they administered the second part of the procedure, that is, this nasal powder,” he added.
In addition, Putin reiterated the call for all Russians to be inoculated against the coronavirus.
“I recommend that everyone not only get vaccinated on time, but also get revaccinated,” Putin said, according to the AFP news agency.
However, he once again expressed his opposition to this immunization being mandatory, as Austria ruled for its inhabitants as of February.
“I think it should continue to be voluntary,” the president stressed, prompting to “convince” the Russians of the need for inoculation instead of forcing them.
Only 37.2% of Russians are immunized to date, according to the specialized website Gogov.
The Russian authorities reported today more than 33,558 new infections and 1,240 deaths from coronavirus during the last 24 hours, a figure close to the maximum during the pandemic.
